Off the Ventilator

Mitchell is no longer on the ventilator. They were able to remove his breathing tube about noon today; He has been doing well since it was removed- just has a little bit of oxygen via a cannula in his nose. 1 more chest tube was removed this morning, leaving 1. His Nasogastric (NG) tube was removed as well. The next step will be starting a feeding tube, possibly within the next 8 hrs. so he will have a new (smaller) tube placed in his nose.
Specific requests:
Mitchell's blood pressure is staying a little elevated- they added a new medication last night to help with this.
He will have a follow-up Ultrasound of his brain tomorrow; We are praying that things have remained stable or maybe even show some improvement.
Pray that he will tolerate his feedings- they will gradually increase/ attempt feedings by mouth.

Jon & Juliane will be driving home in the morning;
Mom & Bethany will be staying until Thursday.
